Our core team member receives the prestigious "She is - 75 Women in STEAM" recognition!" 

Apoorva Bedekar, who leads innovation and strategy at Embryyo, was selected amongst 75 other pioneering women in their respective fields for the "She-is" honor. The recognition was announced by the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, His Excellency British High Commissioner and the Red Dot Foundation, on the occasion of India's 75th Anniversary of Independence.

Ongoing collaboration with a leading orthopedic surgeon to develop solutions that improve implantation outcomes

The objective is to build and test a jig for intraoperative measurements of ligament tensions during total knee replacement (TKR) surgeries, thereby reducing post-implantation complications.

Invented a flow-focusing microchip for a leading hematology manufacturer

Hematology analysis often requires confining the cellular content of a biological specimen into a micro-environment that can provide a continuous laminar flow regime for optical sensing. Our design could also achieve variations in the width of the interrogation spot and least amount of time to reach laminarity and focusing.

Ongoing collaboration with a Swedish company to develop a sweat-based continuous glucose monitoring wearable

The product is envisioned as a patch that athletes ca​​n wear during workouts, collect their sweat, analyze glucose levels and thus provide personalized recommendations of electrolyte intake to achieve peak athletic performance. The collaboration is a "reduction to practice" exercise of a technology in-licensed from University of California San Diego.

Guild Academy along with FemTech Focus co-organized an 8 weeks accelerator aimed at unmet needs in FemTech, a perfect opportunity for us to carve out and test a product strategy catering to menstrual health and wellness.

Product design upgrades for Medtronic Labs 

Embryyo team has been engaged with Medtronic Labs in developing an upgraded version of a screening device within the constraints of the existing form factor and engineering design. The scope of the project includes selection and replacement of essential components in the existing device, demonstrating proof of concept for the revised product, incorporating design changes for assembly and manufacturing and eventual design transfer to manufacturing partners. ​

Embryyo team invented and demonstrated proof-of-concept of a novel inserter tool for an implantable device for one of the world leaders in med-tech devices for women's health

Embryyo has been proudly associated with the R&D and innovations group of a Fortune 100 med-tech MNC (top 10 in global revenues), as a technology partner for front-end innovation, early stage technology de-risking, patent generation and proof of concept demonstration for first-of-its-kind medical device ideas.

Embryyo wins the 'success story award' at the India International Science Festival (IISF '18)

India International Science Festival (IISF) launched in 2015 is a celebration to promote Science and Technology and demonstrate how science could lead India towards a developed nation within a short span of time. The aim is to engage public with science and celebrate the joy of science and show the ways how science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) provide us with the solutions to improve our lives. 

Team Embryyo won the 'success story award' for our novel self-expandable non-vascular stent, at the Industry-Academia Interaction Meet at IISF '18.

Embryyo wins the RICH Cancer Innovation Challenge

We were awarded as one of the 6 winners of the Cancer Innovation Challenge hosted by RICH, the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad. Our novel self-expandable stent for non-vascular stenting applications for malignant lesions was the winning innovation.

Embryyo team selected for the India Innovation Growth Program (IIGP 2.0) Bootcamp at IIMA

The India Innovation Growth Programme (IIGP) 2.0 is a unique tripartite initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, Lockheed Martin and Tata Trusts. We were one of the top 50 teams selected from all over the country (over 2000 applicants) for an intense week-long bootcamp at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, for our innovation in neonatal jaundice diagnostics.​

Fighting Superbugs in India: A video story with glimpses of our work on diagnostics and AMR

A 10-minutes video story on the rising incidences of anti-microbial resistance and 'superbugs' in India, and the need for better, faster, smarter diagnostic technologies. Intel - DST Innovate for Digital India Challenge 

Embryyo emerged as the TOP 10 teams in the country for our indigenously developed imaging based device for cervical cancer screening in the community. The Intel DST Innovate for Digital India program was hosted by the Center of Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. The program included a 3 months accelerator program by CIIE at IIMA and Lester Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of California Berkeley and a grant award of 10,000 USD.
